South korea

description

South korea. a place where i was born and now living for 27 years. a country that is devided for more than 70 years, still ungoing. after korean war ended in 1953, the country had top 10 lowest income in the world among 200 nations, average people earning only 67 usd a year. Now the country has achieved so much growth economically and culturally, 37000 usd a year average, and of course surpassing it’s neighbouring country, north korea. although the country achieved so much growth, it also has downsides from fast growth. low birthrate, conflicts between idiology, gender, age and such.

as a tourist perspective, south korea offers various climates. from low as -20 celcius in winter to 40 celcius in summer, you can have totally different experience depending on ‘when you visit’. pouring snow which freezes your hand and toe to the extreme, to scorching humid rainy season in summer. you can ski at gangwon province at winter and sun tan at jeju in summer, and they are less than 500km apart. as korean i definitely suggest visiting in autumn(september – november) or spring(march – june), otherwise your traveling experience can be a nightmare. most spring and autumn has 5-25 celcius which is perfect for traveling.
